Sometimes, the standard of structural member that you request may not supplied in SolidWorks by default. In this case, you can open a new part file and sketch out the weldment profile that you wish to apply. Next, how to integrate this weldment profile into SolidWorks is very important.
First, you need to know where is the weldment profile provided in SolidWorks is saved. Commonly, it is under your local disk C>Program Files>SolidWorks Corp>SolidWorks>Data> Weldment profile , add a file location and point to the location that I mentioned, so that it will apppeard under your task pane as shown in the picture below:
Besides that, file type is very improtant, make sure you select "Lib Feat Part" which means SolidWorks library feature part!

1st of all, have you watch Avatar? OMG! you haven't watch it! Better be fast because you definately do not want to miss the chances to watch this fantastic movie by the great director of Terminator, Alien, Titanic, Mr. James Cameron.
Last year we have Sir Richard Branson as keynote speaker of SolidWorks World 2009, Florida. Sir Richard Branson is the founder and President of Virgin Group. He talked about the 1st commercial trip to space and going to happen very soon.
I guess I need to have a walk at Hollywood walk of frame and snap the start of James Cameron.

We always complain you can survive in Malaysia by designing. We always heard a friend say Malaysia will never have a great designer. Malaysian would not appreciate a design and we believe that Buatan Malaysia products is a not reliable and I rather pay more to buy an imported design.
Is it really 'design' in Malaysia consider tak boleh lah (cannot laa~)? I believe this is just a mindset. A mindset that we should shift+delete and forget about it forever and ever.
so dear designer, this video is dedicated to you and I hope with this video can inspire you to stay to design and one day you stand proud to say: Malaysian design is the best!

3. How to handle the transition between two flanges at the fillet corner? I will use loft surface. To control the behaviour or direction of the lofted face, we need to create the guide curve. Just insert a 3D sketch and use a spline line to join the point of two flanges as shown in the picture below:
I want to make sure the lofted face must tangent to each connected flanges. To achive this, I will add a tangent relation between the spline line and the edge of the flange at each side:

Somehow when you try to thicken the surface body in order to convert it become a solid model with a defined thickness, you may face this kind of situation where due to the geometry of model, some area of the solid model will have excessive material which is unwanted as shown in the figure above.
In this situation, you need not to use sketch and extrude cut in order to remove the unwanted geometry. This will pretty take time to sketch a close contour to fully enclose the unwanted volume and you may not get the nice result as you want!
Try on the Delete Face command first! This is the fastest way to help you repair the geometry of the model. Select the face belong to the unwanted geometry and under the option for Delete Face command, choose " Delete and patch", means, the software will remove the selected face and patch back the model with a more predictable geometry. (If you select option"Delete" only, it will only remove the selected face and you solid model will turned into surface model). Refer to the figure below, this is the outcome of the delete face command! Simple and nice?
Sometimes, Delete Face might not able to solve your problem, it's all depends on the complexity of model geometry just like the situation as shown in the figure below:
In this case, you can try the 2nd alternative which is Replace Face command! Let see how simple it is! First, do a offset surface for the face that you feel is suitable to be used to patch back the unnecessay geometry, make sure the offseted face is large enough to cover the target face to be patched! Or else, you will need to extend it!
