Often when designing complex parts and assemblies, I lose track of the parent and child dependencies and end up with errors all over after changing one feature. It’s annoying to have to then check all parent and child dependencies to resolve the error.
One of my favourite enhancements in SW2015 is the ability to view the parent relationships between items in the FeatureManager design tree. When you hover over a feature with references, arrows will display showing the relationships. This is now further enhanced in SW2016, where you can also see the Child Dependency.
With this enhancement, I can now plan my design changes efficiently; knowing what parent or child feature it would affect before any changes is being made.
